Where the dogs holiday too

Two stables for two in the Forest of Dean, each with its own secure dog paddock, walks from the door, and a proper wash and blow-dry before the pub.

Oak and Elm are two converted stables in the garden of our home at Aylburton, on the southern edge of the Forest of Dean. Each sleeps two, all on the ground floor, with two dogs welcome free. We built the place around the dogs as much as the people, so everyone actually gets a holiday.

A genuinely secure, enclosed paddock where the dogs run off-lead. Each stable has its own, private to your stay; take the whole place and both are yours.

How many dogs can we bring?

Two per stable, and they stay free. We'd rather say it here than surprise you at the gate.

Is the paddock really secure?

There are layers between the paddocks and the road: automated entrance gates at the lane, a field gate behind them, and your stable's own enclosed paddock. Each stable has its own, so the space your dogs run in is yours for the stay.

What if my dog gets muddy?

There's a dog wash station with blow drier here, free to use as often as you like. Mud is part of the Forest; the drying off is on us.

Are the stables adults-only?

Yes. Oak and Elm each sleep two, and the whole place books as up to 4 adults and 4 dogs. It keeps the place quiet, which is rather the point.

The dogs run free. You switch off.
